Our Story

High South Furniture is a distinguished woodworking company, known for its exquisitely handcrafted rustic furniture designs and exceptional craftsmanship. The company was founded by Brant Davis, a talented artisan and a known “wood nerd” who launched his career with a remarkable opportunity to design a custom piece for the renowned Rockefeller Estate. Interestingly, Brant's “big break” came about through a friendship he had with the guy managing Barneys New York mens department at the time. This friend, an advocate of Brant's talent, distributed his business cards to his clients and colleagues. It wasn’t long before his name caught on.

When his friend told him he got him a gig, Brant had no idea it would be for the Rockefeller family. It wasn’t until he pulled up to a gate blocked by security guards that he realized this was no ordinary client. This one-in-a-lifetime opportunity was the event that truly set Brant’s career in motion. Through many years perfecting his craft and a series of generous word-of-mouth referrals, Brant was able to build a network of clientele down the East Coast and across the country. He now runs High South Furniture from the High Country of Newland, NC.
